We all know that Vista is a memory hog & Game Booster really helps free up resources so my games run more smoothly. My main computer runs Vista Home Premium with only 1GB of RAM and I LOVE to play casual games. For us "novice" users, it's kind of a "set it & forget it" kind of program.

GB Premium offers several more tweaks that can be customized to fit your needs. If you already use Advanced SystemCare and use the Turbo boost feature, then that's pretty much the free version of GameBooster. I have been using Game Booster for a couple of years now & I absolutely love it! Previous versions were free then with v.2, there is a free & upgrade to Premium.

It's still worth having in my opinion but even if you miss the free give away today there's not much difference that I can see between this and the always free version. To #22 Eric: (I thought it would be worth a try but this caused Firefox (4.0.1) not to be able to load any pages, might work for others though) The Game Defrag is a nice option too since you can just defrag whatever folder the game/program is in and not have to wait to defrag the whole drive, although I'm not really sure how much performance increase that creates if any.

It did find an updated audio driver (under game drivers) for my system and I thought I had the latest version as I had just recently downloaded Gamebooster 2 from Iobit's website. Make sure to uncheck the boxes on installation or you'll end up with an unwanted toolbar and your homepage changed. Seems like the only difference between this and the always free version is that you can add more than one program to the programs box (which is MOVES the shortcut to instead of creating a copy). Game Booster is 100% freeware, without any virus, adware, and spyware.Installed and activated okay for me on Win Xp Home SP3. Game Booster does not overclock your hardware, does not change your Windows Registry and system settings. Game Booster prevents and avoids possible conflicts and incompatibility, by temporarily closing background processes and unnecessary Windows services. Game Booster gives more CPU and RAM to your games, making your games running at the peak performance. Its intuitive interface makes Game Booster the perfect tool for complete computer dummies. Game Booster makes it simpler to enjoy the latest games and take your experience to a new level. That means you can keep all the features of Microsoft Windows Vista and XP ready for when you need them, but turn them off when you are ready to get down to serious business - gaming. It works by temporarily shutting down background processes, cleaning RAM, and intensifying processor performance. Game Booster helps achieve the performance edge previously only available to highly technical enthusiasts.
